WHY START-UPS FAIL

Why do start-ups fail?  I saw this question on a friend's Facebook wall and the first thing I did was to stop and think,  really,  why do start-ups fail?   I took my time to think,  I wanted to reply with impressive response so I thought deeply and searched my soul for answers.  I was receiving answers such as lack of capital,  people problems,  government policies and all those things that they tell us in conventional business seminars but all these didn't convince me, they are not the reasons for start-up failure as far as I am concerned,  so I asked myself, what will I respond to this question?  Suddenly,  something pop up in my mind,  the answer just arrived shinning so bright like the sun and lighting up my mind.  The answer is so simple that I would overlook it and go for bigger reasons or bigger grammars to convince the world that I know what I am saying,  but it is not the big and ...

THE CASHFLOW QUADRANT BY ROBERT KIYOSAKI: MY UNDERSTANDING - ALLI QUADRI OLALEKAN, CEO QUADOOWEAR

One of the great people who have given their hearts to humanity is the man called Robert Kiyosaki,  he is a total package for financial solution. Since I will like to be rich and wealthy I have decided  to make him my teacher.  Robert Kiyosaki  is great at illustrations and his artistic mind makes it possible to create a diagram like the " cash flow quadrant " diagram. I personally have interest in that diagram because it relates to me as an entrepreneur.  For a very long time after coming in contact with this diagram and thinking that I know and understand it,  I realised lately that I didn't notice one detail on it.  I didn't realise the movement or direction of  the arrows  on the diagram. In the diagram,  the arrows begin at the E, moved to S,  then to B and lastly to I.  What is it about the arrow representation?  Why does the movement of the arrows matter?  Can we not have the arrows move in anot...

I'm back this week, thank you for checking up to know the update on this blog. I am happy to write the part B of this topic; HOW TO START UP A CLOTHING LINE, this is the next five tips, after the first five tips last week.  Last week, i discussed Passion, Target audience,  Study the system in your industry , Have a clear vision,  Start small and Think Big. 6. GROWTH Focus on growth, not success. Growth is a process of learning and being. MR NIGER D Do you remember this in your secondary school days? In biology, i was taught that living things have some characteristics that made  them up. Movement Respiration Nutrition Growth Excretion Reproduction Death An honest advice or suggestion from me would be "focus on growth", not success. Growth is a road that is always under construction,  a path that leads to greatness.  Hold to your heart very dearly the principle of growth, make it your religion, make it your culture. When you learn, you ...

HOW TO START UP A CLOTHING LINE (PART A)

Hey guys! Let me just pour our my mind here, straight from my personal experience in the clothing business. I hope you will be able to learn a thing or two. Just like every other business, clothing line business owner must have maximum passion for his business and ready to take risk that that will benefit his dream or vision. Apart from passion, you also need to determine your target audience, this is very important in fashion and style business because it is a very large fiend and having a clear idea of who you are in business for and who will buy your products matters a lot. This might take a lot more information that i can imagine at the moment of writing this, but i can not wait to share my experience of my 12 years in the clothing business. So i try to write all i could now, it might have to extend or develop into a series, i don't know. But i know i am willing to share my experience so far with the aim of educating and enlightening someone, somewhere.  These are 5 tip...

THE POWER OF YOUR FOCUS

There is a wood to be cut into a firewood  to make fire for food, you are given an axe to use, which would you use, a sharpened axe or one with a weak blade? Which gets the work done faster? The sharpened axe. Focus is just like the sharpened axe, have focus and everything will works like magic.  Lets take for example, the telescope. The telescope is a wonderful piece that allows see things from long distance and bring them closer to you. The  same way when you make focus your priority, you can see far distance on the path of your passion for your vision, that is why entrepreneurs stand alone different from  the crowd, because they have the power to focus and see things others do not see. As an entrepreneur , you need to make choices on things pertaining o your business and life, many choices seems to be right and most of the times we are confused but when you take your time to analyse and strategise according to the plan, you will gradually see a wa...

THE POWER OF YOUR PASSION

If you love it, if you love to do it, then you have passion for it, this is not a difficult topic to discuss. How important is passion for an entrepreneur? Passion is one of the most vital resources that is needed for success in life and it comes naturally to human from birth, at least one thing will make us passionate, that is a sure thing, the question is how much can we believe and follow that passion of ours.  For an entrepreneur, vision comes first and passion follows, vision is like the sand for construction while passion is the cement, mixture of the two at good proportion will make a good concrete when you add water. There is a popular analogy about success in start-up businesses that says: For every 10,000 businesses that is starting up, only about half will survive after 5 years and only a few will be in business after 10 years. This is a good explanation for passion because only those who have passion will stay with the vision long enough to achieve a significant...

STARTING UP AS AN ENTREPRENEUR

It may be of help to share this as I realize that starting up an entrepreneurship journey can be energy consuming, frustrating, tiring and boring, especially when you seem not to have any resources to begin with like my people from the ghetto and the masses. Don't be overwhelmed by all of that, don't let your brokenness trick you to believe that you can not achieve your dreams. Money is not all you need to start your entrepreneurship journey. In fact, in this journey you will only use money less often because money is used to buy, but you are not buying much here, hey! We are creating! So you are going to need plenty of PASSION. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. " -Matthew 6:21 ESV  “Passion is the genesis of genius.” —Tony Robbins Why do we need passion? What are we creating? Just like I said in my writing; Who Is An Entrepreneur? A leader who has a vision that promises a better life for humanity, this leader should...

WHO IS AN ENTREPRENEUR?

In my own understanding, i will say that an entrepreneur is a leader that has a vision and is able  to make other people see, believe and support the vision also. This vision of course has to be realistic, promising of a better life of value for humanity and beneficial to the people who you are leading. Contrary to the cliche definition of an entrepreneur that he/she is a risk taker in business, I have made emphases on the 'vision' and characteristics of an entrepreneur. You should be ready to take the right risk, understand that there are no quick fixes and just follow the process, good things take time. The risk you take as an entrepreneure must be that which is founded on your 'vision and service' to the people ad not money making, this is the only true way to be an entrepreneure. Let us not confuse small business with entrepreneurship, small businesses are founded for money making reasons and cannot do anything outside that scope, but an entrepreneure must pu...
