STOP DREAMING, MAKE A MOVE. - Ms. TITILOPE ADEKOYA, TISENNAH'S TOUCH CEO

I am very happy seeing Young Minds stand up for something,  I am self motivated myself but Ms. Titilope inspired me even more when I met her.  While she was working on her client in a photo studio she had come for her photoshoot, I made a comment : "this make up job is not easy o", and her response tells me so much about her already.  She responded and said "Yes,  it's not easy,  if you want to achieve the best". 

That made me see through her as one who will go extra mile for her customer's satisfaction and delivery.  She is no doubt a visionary young lady.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION AND FAMILY BACKGROUND

I’m an undergraduate of University of Lagos, Faculty of Art, Department of English, 400L. 2nd in a family of 5 with 2 step sisters.

WHY CHOOSE TO BECOME A MAKE UP ARTISTE ? 

I love to play with colors and makeup is a gateway to expressing myself.

WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR MAKE UP OUTFIT AND HOW DID YOU GET YOUR BUSINESS NAME? 

Tisennah’s Touch is much more than just a makeup outfit. We are a seasoned unique, one stop beauty shop. We pride ourselves on expertise in beauty makeup, gele, special effect makeup, pedicure, manicure, nails, spa and hair styling. The business name was birth from combinations of my names Titi, Seun and Hannah (Tisennah).

CHALLENGES YOU FACED WHEN STARTING UP

Starting up wasn’t as swift as I thought it would be. I initially had issues with finances getting my kits. Maintaining and growing 3-5 clients I started with was a major challenge as i had to do several follow-up to keep them coming back. After a few months, we started getting referrals and client-base gradually increases. The journey is still far but we are earnestly matching on.

CHALLENGES YOU FACE NOW

Quality Product with reasonable price is a major challenge. Too many fake products out there. We are however selective on products we use which are majorly on client’s request.


HOW DID YOU START,  WHO IS YOUR MENTOR AND WHO INSPIRED YOU ? 

I stared by working on myself, friends and family. They motivated me by referring their friends, positive comments and feedback gave me the zeal to do more and that is how I got paid for doing what I love. I decided to convert it into business and went for professional training with Ewabela makeup, Oni-gele and BN beauty.

My inspiration cut-across: fashion, travel, history, culture, plants and nature. My mentor is Mrs. Bimpe Onokoya, Meybelline ambassador.

YOUR HIGHEST AND LOWEST PAID JOBS ? 

My lowest paid job was N2,000 and my highest so far is N55,000


WHAT DO YOU REALLY ENJOY ABOUT YOUR JOB ? 

The feeling before, during and after revealing my client’s inner beauty and the excitement on their face after a good job well done gives me joy unspeakable.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT YOU THAT WILL MAKE PEOPLE WANT TO PATRONIZE YOU ? 

I am a seasoned cosmetologist and I pride myself in the ability to bring out the beauty you.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO APART FROM MAKE-UP ? 

Outside Tisennah Touch, I am a real estate consultant.

PLAN FOR THE NEAREST FUTURE 

We intend to start Tisennah cosmetics. The goal is to partner with other brands for a start.


HOW DOES IT FEEL TO DO BUSINESS IN NIGERIA

Lagos is a land of many opportunities. The resources, man power and market for goods and services is one of the best in Africa. A serious entrepreneur however needs to be focus, consistent and spontaneous in doing business in Lagos.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE 

I am in a relationship, and we are doing wonderfully well.

HOW DO YOU RELAX ? 

I listen to music. I recently found new love in reading and do cinema once in a while.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT NIGERIA ? 

Nigeria is a great nation with lots of opportunities for those who can see it and ready to utilize it.

IF YOU BECAME THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA,  WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY ? 


I will ensure I make Nigeria a better place for all.
